Microsoft’s October 7 Game Pass announcement scheduled nine games to leave the subscription library on October 15, 2026, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Pacific Drive, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Nova Roma and Superball. That date has passed. As of October 18, we have not independently verified when subscription access ended for every title, plan or region.
Microsoft’s October 7 Xbox Wire post is the dated source for the October 15 schedule and nine-game list, including Nova Roma and Superball. It establishes the announced departure date, not an independently observed cutoff for each account.
There was a date mismatch before the deadline. Xbox Cloud Gaming listings previously showed Leaving 10/16 for seven games and Leaving soon for Superball, while Xbox Wire said October 15. The October 18 public Cloud page did not expose a readable post-deadline removal list, so we cannot independently resolve when every entitlement ended.
If you are also tracking what is arriving, Microsoft lists nine additions from October 8 through October 16. See our Xbox Game Pass October 2026 additions and tier breakdown for dates, eligible plans and day-one status.

Why did Xbox Cloud listings show October 16?
Before the deadline, Microsoft’s public pages gave different date labels. That historical conflict does not prove that either date was the actual cutoff for every account.
Earlier Xbox Cloud Gaming listings showed Leaving 10/16 beside seven cloud-visible games:
- Evil West
- Donut County
- A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Crime Scene Cleaner
- The Casting of Frank Stone
- Pacific Drive
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
That was one day later than the October 15 date in Xbox Wire. We found no official explanation for the difference. It would be speculative to call it a timezone issue or assert that all nine games lost access at the same time.
As of October 18, the announced deadlines have passed. Check the current Xbox app or Store for your plan and region before relying on Game Pass access. A public Store listing alone does not confirm that a subscription can still launch a title.

Nova Roma was included in the official departure list
Before Microsoft’s October 7 announcement, Nova Roma’s public Store page showed PC Game Pass inclusion even as removal reports circulated.
Xbox Wire included Nova Roma (Game Preview) in its October 15 departure schedule as a PC title. That resolves whether Microsoft listed it, but not the exact time individual subscriptions lost access.
In an October 18 anonymous US Store-page retrieval, Nova Roma appeared for $29.99, with no Game Pass inclusion label visible in the extracted page. That is consistent with removal from the catalog, but it is not an authenticated PC Game Pass entitlement test.

What does Superball leaving Game Pass mean if the game is free?
Superball needs a different reading from the paid games in this list.
Microsoft’s October 7 announcement listed Superball for removal on October 15. An October 18 public US Store page still lists the base game as Free+. The page also describes cloud play under Game Pass plans with a separate “Game purchase required” message. These labels do not establish the exact subscription or cloud-access cutoff.
Removal from Game Pass does not, by itself, mean Superball’s base game became a paid product. Microsoft has not documented the exact impact on Superball’s cloud or subscription entitlements in the departure notice. The supported distinction is that the base game is still listed Free+, while actual cloud or subscription access needs account-level verification.

What happens if you want to keep playing after a game leaves?
Game Pass access lasts until your subscription ends or a title leaves the Game Pass library. If you do not own a paid game separately, leaving the catalog ends the Game Pass entitlement to keep playing it.
Microsoft currently tells members that games leaving the catalog can be purchased with a member discount of up to 20%. The actual price should still be checked on the Store before buying because discounts can vary by game and region.
If you already own the game, the Game Pass removal does not remove that purchase from your account.

Which former Game Pass titles should you check now?
If you played a listed game through Game Pass, check whether your current plan still grants access. If a paid title is no longer available with your subscription, compare its current purchase price with the progress you want to keep. Do not assume your old subscription entitlement remains active.
If you had progress in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem or Pacific Drive, check the Store and your existing saves before deciding to buy. Nova Roma matters specifically to PC Game Pass users. Superball is different because its base game is still listed Free+.
Bottom line
Microsoft’s October 7 announcement scheduled nine departures for October 15, 2026. It did not establish a verified cutoff time for every plan or region.
The announced list was:
- A Plague Tale: Requiem
- Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Crime Scene Cleaner
- Donut County
- Evil West
- Nova Roma (Game Preview)
- Pacific Drive
- Superball
- The Casting of Frank Stone
Older Xbox Cloud listings showed October 16 for seven cloud-visible titles, while Xbox Wire named October 15. An October 18 public fetch did not establish each title’s exact removal timing. For current access, check your Xbox app and Store account. Historical date labels do not guarantee that a subscription still grants access.
Superball is the special case: the US Store still lists its base game as Free+, even though Microsoft named it in the Game Pass departure schedule. The exact cloud and subscription impact has not been independently verified.
