Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Part 1 was released on October 15, 2026 as free Update 1.72. It adds six cars, SUGO International Racing Course and new collecting tools. December’s Part 2 remains separate.
Polyphony Digital is splitting the update into two parts. October’s Part 1 adds Sportsland SUGO, six cars and several collecting and garage features. The second half follows in December with Autumn Ring, Family Mode, Shuffle Race, Online Drift Trial and other additions.
That distinction matters because the complete Spec IV announcement is much larger than the October update by itself.
When did Gran Turismo 7 Spec IV Part 1 release?
The October 15 release notes confirm that Spec IV Part 1 is available as Update 1.72. Polyphony first announced the date at the Singapore Gran Turismo World Series event.
What is included in Update 1.72?
Polyphony’s release notes confirm:
- SUGO International Racing Course and six cars
- a refreshed opening cinematic
- Vintage, Car Concierge, Experience and Car Viewer
- Collector Level cap raised to 90
- three Café Extra Menus and a Seasonal Menu
- six new World Circuits events and two Scapes featured collections
Autumn Ring, Family Mode, Shuffle Race and Online Drift Trial remain scheduled for December.
Which six cars arrived in October?
The October lineup shown around the Singapore reveal consists of:
- Ferrari F355 Berlinetta 1994
- Honda Civic Si Group A Version 1987
- Citroën 2CV 6 Charleston 1986
- Honda Step WGN Spada Premium Line ’23
- MAZDA RX-VISION GT3 EVO ’26
- Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo
The Ferrari F355 is one of the notable additions revealed with the October update.
There is also an important change from the cars players may remember seeing when Spec IV was originally announced. The BMW M5 E60 appeared in broader Spec IV material, but current Singapore-event coverage places it in the December half rather than the October six-car lineup.
That is another reason not to treat the original 12-car Spec IV teaser as an October car list.
SUGO International Racing Course is included in Part 1
Update 1.72 adds SUGO International Racing Course, also known as Sportsland SUGO. Polyphony describes the Japanese circuit as a technical track with significant elevation changes.
Autumn Ring is still part of December’s Spec IV update, not October’s release.
What is Vintage?
Vintage is a Brand Central section featuring cars from 2000 and earlier.
Players can browse older vehicles and jump to the Used Cars or Legend Cars dealerships to look for them. Polyphony describes the feature in its October 14 overview.
How does Car Concierge work?
Car Concierge lets players order eligible older cars from Vintage. Players can choose a model, color and condition.
It unlocks after completing Menu Book No. 39 and watching the ending. The release notes confirm that requirement.
Players can have up to four orders active, depending on Collector Level. Polyphony does not give a universal delivery time in these notes.
Which brands offer Experience challenges?
Experience adds brand-specific driving challenges in Brand Central. At launch, the supported brands are Xiaomi, Yangwang, Hyundai and Polestar.
What does Car Viewer add?
Car Viewer lets players inspect and photograph their current car in the Garage. They can change the background, turn the front wheels and switch the lights on or off.
What is the new Collector Level cap?
The cap rises from 70 to 90. Three new Café Extra Menus arrive:
- No. 55: High-Performance EVs, Collector Level 70
- No. 56: Tuned GT-Rs, Collector Level 80
- No. 57: Le Mans Winners, Collector Level 90
All three require completing Menu Book No. 39 and watching the ending. The new Seasonal Menu also unlocks after that milestone.
Polyphony’s October 14 preview listed Level 75 for Menu 55. The newer October 15 release notes specify Level 70.
Which six World Circuits events were added?
- Sunday Cup at Autopolis Short Course
- European Sunday Cup 400 at SUGO
- Vision Gran Turismo Trophy at Spa-Francorchamps
- European Clubman Cup 600 at Dragon Trail, Seaside Reverse
- World Touring Car 600 at SUGO
- World Touring Car 800 at SUGO
The Scapes collections are Angeles Crest Highway and Sportsland SUGO. The October 15 patch notes list six events, correcting the five shown in the October 14 preview.
What is not coming until December?
This is the easiest part of Spec IV to misread.
Polyphony currently assigns the following features to the December update:
- Autumn Ring
- six additional cars
- Family Mode
- Shuffle Race
- Online Drift Trial
- the next evolution of Gran Turismo Sophy
- a new Power Pack difficulty level
So if you are primarily interested in online drifting, randomized Shuffle races, the return of Autumn Ring or Family Mode, those features are not part of the October 15 Part 1 release.
What is Family Mode?
Polyphony says Family Mode is designed so players of different ages and experience levels can enjoy Gran Turismo together.
The company specifically describes it as accessible to kids and beginners while still offering something for experienced Gran Turismo 7 players. It belongs to December, and Polyphony has not yet published enough detail to establish all of its player, controller or progression rules.
Shuffle Race and Online Drift Trial are also December features
Shuffle Race introduces races with randomly selected cars.
Online Drift Trial adds a competitive online drifting mode where players can test their drifting skills against other players.
Both are currently listed for December. That is worth emphasizing because trailers and broad Spec IV summaries can make them look like part of one simultaneous update.
Is Spec IV free?
Yes.
Polyphony describes Spec IV as a free major update for Gran Turismo 7. The October and December releases together form the complete Spec IV rollout.
What did Update 1.72 deliver?
Spec IV Part 1 is now released. It focuses on new cars, SUGO, collecting tools, extra menus and races.
Polyphony’s final release notes also mention physics, controller and Legend Cars price changes. December brings the remaining Spec IV modes and cars.
