EA Sports College Football 27’s October 1 title update, identified by EA as TU5, targets several problems that can directly affect progression, matches, and item management. The most important fixes are in Dynasty, Road to Glory, and Ultimate Team, with additional gameplay and PS5 audio corrections.

Deployment update: EA published the TU5 notes on September 30 and still has some support copy describing the update as upcoming. However, current patch tracking now reports College Football 27 version 1.013.000 available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The fixes below therefore reflect the live console rollout, while EA’s own support wording appears not to have fully caught up yet.

The Dynasty fix that matters most: missing Dynasty Points

EA says TU5 fixes an issue where Coach Goals that awarded Dynasty Points did not correctly grant those points during the End of Season Recap.

That is more consequential than a cosmetic Dynasty change because it affects progression earned through completed goals. EA is also correcting two related coaching-economy issues: Coach Points awarded after a contract extension should now always come in multiples of five, and the warning shown when firing a staff member will correctly account for Dynasty Points refunded by firing that coach.

Dynasty players should still verify their own save after installing TU5. The notes describe the corrected behavior going forward; they do not promise that every previously missed reward will be reconstructed automatically.

Road to Glory gets two practice-freeze fixes

Road to Glory players have two stability fixes worth watching.

  • EA says the game could freeze after selecting a Goal Line play during the Air Game minigame.
  • It could also freeze when a non-quarterback selected Special Teams plays in certain scenarios.

EA says TU5 fixes both cases. EA also lists smaller Road to Glory corrections, including the missing William V. Campbell Trophy icon and disappearing sliders on the Max Potential screen after resetting allocations.

Ultimate Team: EVO selection and filtering get a large cleanup

Ultimate Team receives one of the largest groups of functional fixes in TU5. The most important are around EVOs, Objectives on Items, filters, and upgrade information.

EA says an EVO could previously be applied to the first eligible player in a list instead of the player the user actually selected. TU5 corrects that selection behavior according to the published notes. EA also lists fixes for a server error when opening EVO filters, blank or duplicated player items after changing filters, and an EVO Upgrade Path preview that did not show the rewards available from its objectives.

Other item-management fixes include a case where quickselling an item with a non-removable EVO could leave the item visible and cause a server error, plus a Sets issue where Redeem could return an error even when an eligible item was available.

Objectives on Items are also getting attention. EA says they could appear locked in the Lineup until the user played a game, and favorite-state behavior could be inconsistent across Lineup tabs or generate a server error from Special Teams.

A gameplay fix addresses incorrect safeties after interceptions

One of the clearer on-field fixes concerns interceptions near the end zone. EA says a defensive interception caught near the goal line and carried into the end zone could incorrectly be ruled a safety.

EA says TU5 fixes that ruling. The notes also cover quarterback behavior when trying to slide near the first-down line, a defensive-line auto-pinch/spread issue tied to audibling into or out of QB sneak, and the ability to strafe while using Ballhawk.

PS5 crowd audio distortion is also on the list

EA says TU5 fixes an issue that made crowds and crowd chants sound distorted on PlayStation 5.

This is not a gameplay-system change, but it is one of the most immediately noticeable presentation fixes for affected PS5 players.

What about uniforms and presentation changes?

The October 1 notes include a sizeable Sights & Sounds section with new or updated uniforms and helmets for schools including Air Force, Arizona State, Cal, Duke, FIU, Fresno State, Iowa, Kent State, Marshall, Minnesota, Navy, Oregon, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Utah State, and Wake Forest.

Those additions matter to players following a particular program, but they do not change the core decision of whether a player should care about TU5. For most players, the progression, freeze, scoring, EVO, server-error, and PS5 audio fixes are the more actionable part of the update.

Should Dynasty players expect lost points to be restored?

EA’s notes say the bug that prevented Coach Goals from correctly awarding Dynasty Points is fixed in TU5. They do not state that points missing from older End of Season Recaps will automatically be granted retroactively.

Until EA explicitly says otherwise, the safer expectation is that the patch corrects the earning behavior rather than guaranteeing a retroactive repair for every affected save.

How to verify TU5 is installed

Before assuming a problem remains, verify that your game client has downloaded the October 1 title update. Current console patch tracking identifies the live build as version 1.013.000 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

EA’s own Help hub still describes the October 1 update as upcoming, so that support text appears to be lagging behind the live console rollout. If EA changes the patch notes or publishes a different platform-specific build reference, this article should be updated again.

Bottom line

TU5 is not just a uniform update. The fixes with the clearest practical impact are the Dynasty Points correction, two Road to Glory freeze cases, the EVO selection and filtering fixes in Ultimate Team, the incorrect-safety bug after certain interceptions, and distorted PS5 crowd audio.

If one of those issues affects you, the October 1 update is worth installing and verifying on your system. If you are waiting specifically for a retroactive Dynasty Points grant, EA has not promised one in the published notes.
