Sony’s PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October 2026 are live now: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2.
All three became available to PlayStation Plus members on Tuesday, October 6 and remain claimable through Monday, November 2.
PlayStation Plus October 2026 lineup at a glance
| Game | Platforms in Sony’s announcement | October claim window |
|---|---|---|
| F1 25 | PS5 | October 6 to November 2 |
| Hunt: Showdown 1896 | PS5 | October 6 to November 2 |
| Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 | PS5, PS4 | October 6 to November 2 |
Sony notes that the Monthly Games lineup can vary by region, so the PlayStation Store in your account region remains the final check when you claim them.
F1 25 is the racing pick, but Sony lists it as PS5 only
F1 25 is the official game of the 2025 FIA Formula One World Championship and is the most conventional big-budget release in October’s trio.
Sony highlights Career, My Team 2.0 and online play, including the squad-based multiplayer option in F1 World.
The platform detail matters: Sony’s October announcement lists F1 25 for PS5. It does not list a PS4 version as part of this Monthly Games offer.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 brings the highest-stakes multiplayer option
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is Crytek’s extraction shooter built around hunting supernatural targets while competing against other players trying to claim the same bounty.
You can enter alone or with teammates, track a boss, collect the bounty and then survive long enough to extract.
For October’s PlayStation Plus offer, Sony lists Hunt: Showdown 1896 for PS5.
Sony also lists a Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack as part of its October PlayStation Plus HorrorFest packs. The pack launched on October 6, and a current PlayStation Store listing marks it as a PlayStation Plus Exclusive in supported regions. Sony says the base game must be owned to access the pack contents.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the only October game listed for both PS5 and PS4
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 takes the EDF formula into a voxel-style world and lets players build a four-character squad from rescued teammates.
Sony lists online four-player co-op and local two-player split-screen, with the October Monthly Games offer covering both PS5 and PS4.
That makes it the only title in this month’s three-game lineup that Sony lists for both PlayStation generations.
The October games are live now through November 2
The October games are available now, and Sony’s announced claim period ends on Monday, November 2, 2026.
You do not need to finish the games during that period. The important action is adding them to your library while they are available as Monthly Games, subject to the usual PlayStation Plus subscription terms.
If your subscription later lapses, PlayStation Plus access rules apply when you try to play claimed Monthly Games again.
October also adds PlayStation Plus HorrorFest packs
Sony’s October announcement includes several limited promotional item packs alongside the Monthly Games.
The announced examples are:
- Call of Duty: Warzone Horror Bundle on October 1
- Hunt: Showdown 1896 Starter Pack on October 6
- Overwatch 2 Draugr-themed pack announced for October 7
These are not extra full games. Sony says the relevant base game must be owned to use the pack contents.
Monthly Games are not the same as the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog
The October announcement covers the monthly claimable games offered through PlayStation Plus.
That is separate from the rotating PlayStation Plus Game Catalog available through higher subscription tiers. Keeping the two lists separate helps avoid assuming that a Game Catalog addition has the same claim-and-keep behavior as a Monthly Game.
How to claim the October games now
Open the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games section or the PlayStation Store for your region and confirm:
- the correct platform version
- that the price has changed to the applicable PlayStation Plus claim option
- that the game has been added to your library before leaving the store
Sony specifically warns that lineup availability may differ by region.
