SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada is moving from an online PvPvE game to an offline PvE version after its online service ends sometime after May 2027. Existing owners will not need to buy the game again, but players who want to keep eligible progression and purchased items will need to complete a separate save-transfer procedure during Bandai Namco’s designated migration period.

The most important dates are earlier than the shutdown itself. Bandai Namco plans to open the save-data transfer process in December 2026, while sales of paid SYN COINS end on December 18, 2026 at 00:00 JST.

If you do not complete the transfer procedure, Bandai Namco says the offline version will start with new save data. That makes this more than a normal server-closure notice for anyone who wants to preserve their current progress or eligible purchased content.

Do you need to buy the offline version again?

No. Bandai Namco says current owners will be able to update SYNDUALITY Echo of Ada to the offline version at no additional cost.

Physical-copy owners are covered as well. The company says the offline version will be playable by applying the offline update while using the applicable game disc.

The exact update process and required version have not been published yet, so there is no reason to follow unofficial migration instructions before Bandai Namco releases the final procedure.

How the save transfer will work

The transfer is not automatic. Bandai Namco says players must launch the game with a stable Internet connection during the designated transfer period and complete the required transition procedure.

The purpose is to move eligible server-stored information into save data that the offline version can use locally. The company plans to explain the exact controls, required game version, confirmation screen and completion check before the transfer process starts.

Bandai Namco currently plans to launch that save-data transfer feature in December 2026. It has not yet published the exact opening date, closing date or final step-by-step instructions.

What happens if you do not transfer your save?

If you skip the migration procedure, the offline version does not simply recover your current online profile later. Bandai Namco says you will begin the offline version with new save data.

That consequence also applies to transfer-eligible data tied to the online version. Bandai Namco’s Japanese FAQ specifically names examples including Magus costumes and Cradle or weapon skins, while the English notices say eligible purchased items can move to the offline version if the transfer is completed during the designated period.

The company has not yet published the complete list of transferable items or every transfer condition. Those details are scheduled to arrive with the migration instructions.

What happens to SYN COINS?

Sales of paid SYN COINS end on December 18, 2026 at 00:00 JST. After that cutoff, players will no longer be able to buy additional paid SYN COINS.

The sales cutoff is not the same as each coin balance’s expiry date. Bandai Namco says paid SYN COINS can be used for 150 days after their initial activation following purchase. A balance can therefore remain usable after December 18 if its individual 150-day period has not ended.

There is one important limitation: Bandai Namco will not refund unused paid SYN COINS.

If you still have a paid balance, check its expiration date rather than assuming December 18 is the final day you can spend it. Once that individual expiration period ends, the remaining SYN COINS can no longer be used.

Will items bought with SYN COINS carry over?

Some purchased items are planned to transfer to the offline version. Bandai Namco uses costumes as one example and says eligible purchased content can be carried over by completing the applicable data transfer during the designated period.

The final eligibility list and transfer conditions are not available yet. Until Bandai Namco publishes them, it would be unsafe to assume that every item associated with the online game will survive the transition.

Players with concerns about their individual SYN COINS balance or purchase history should use Bandai Namco customer support. The company says its official X and Discord channels cannot answer account-specific balance or purchase-history questions.

What changes when SYNDUALITY becomes offline-only?

The online service is expected to end sometime after May 2027. Bandai Namco plans to announce the specific shutdown timing around March 2027.

The offline version will be a standalone game with functions that require online connectivity removed. The current PvPvE structure will end with the online service, while Bandai Namco describes the continuing offline game as a PvE extraction shooter.

The company also says the event presenting content in October 2026 is scheduled to be the final content event for the online service. Players can continue playing online until the service actually ends.

What should existing players do now?

  1. Keep the game updated and watch Bandai Namco’s official migration notices.
  2. When the transfer feature opens in December 2026, check the required game version and exact migration window before starting the procedure.
  3. Complete the transfer while the online service and designated migration process are available if you want to keep eligible progression and purchased items.
  4. If you own paid SYN COINS, check each balance’s expiration date and use the currency before it expires. Do not assume unused paid currency will be refunded.
  5. After completing the migration, use Bandai Namco’s confirmation method to make sure the transfer actually finished.

What is still unknown?

Several important details are intentionally not filled in yet because Bandai Namco has not published them.

  • the exact December 2026 date when save transfer opens
  • the final deadline for completing the transfer
  • the exact game version required
  • the complete list of transferable progression, inventory and purchased items
  • the exact online-service shutdown date after May 2027
  • which online-specific functions will be absent from the offline build beyond the confirmed end of PvPvE

Those details can materially change what an owner needs to do, so this article should be refreshed when Bandai Namco publishes the final migration instructions.
