What this checker can tell you
The current sample covers 18 Nintendo-published games chosen to represent the main upgrade and compatibility cases. Free updates and paid Nintendo Switch 2 Edition upgrades are different, and some games have both. The checker also flags membership and original-controller requirements when Nintendo documents them.
Important limits
Instant Game Zone does not connect to your Nintendo Account, inspect purchases, detect your region, or check retailer stock or prices. Imported or different-region copies may need a separate Nintendo check because upgrade-pack compatibility can depend on the software and region. If the evidence is not clear enough, the checker tells you to verify the official source instead of guessing. See Nintendo’s upgrade-pack support guidance.
Sources and freshness
These 18 records were checked against Nintendo on October 15, 2026. Each result links to the relevant official Nintendo source and shows when Instant Game Zone last checked it. During initial validation, records older than 14 days are treated as needing a fresh official-source check before an upgrade claim is shown.

Other Switch 2 ownership guides
The checker covers 18 Nintendo-published examples, not every Switch 2 game. These separate guides explain game-specific offers and limitations:
- Minecraft Switch 2 upgrade: the limited-time digital-owner offer, edition choices and world transfers.
- Cities: Skylines Expanded Edition: the 70% owner discount and unresolved save migration.
- The Crew Motorfest on Switch 2: cross-save, DLC purchase limits and online requirements.
- It Takes Two on Switch 2: upgrade eligibility and co-op compatibility.
